Doucoure delighted being back for Everton

Everton star Abdoulaye Doucoure believes he's come back even stronger than before.

The all-action midfielder has been missing for the past 10 games for the Premier League strugglers.

As the Toffees battle relegation, they will be happy to call on the man who saved them from the drop last season.

“It felt very close," Doucoure told evertontv on almost scoring in his comeback in a 1-1 draw against Brighton.

“I have not watched it back but I remember it was a perfect ball from Dwight [O'Neil] and a good volley from me. But also, a good stop from Tariq [Lamptey] so fair play to him."

On being back, Doucoure explained: “I am so happy. It was very frustrating to be out - I hate to be injured.

“Obviously, I came back but then had another injury so it was a big setback. But I have come back stronger, my mentality is still there, and I still want to help the team.

“The Brighton game was an ever better performance from the last [against Crystal Palace], so each game I am getting closer to full fitness. Hopefully, I am going to come back to my best."
