Primera Division new-boys Real Mallorca have snapped up Villarreal defender Jaume Costa.

The fullback was released last week and joins Mallorca as a free agent. He has signed a deal with Mallorca to 2023.

Costa said, "I am very excited to start, to contribute, to help both on and off the field.

"I know several people from the coaching staff and in the end their insistence has convinced me.

"Pablo Ortells (Mallorca sports director) and the coaching staff have given me that confidence . It is an exciting and beautiful project and I hope that together we can achieve the goals that we set for ourselves."
