Pedro Chirivella has rejected a new contract offer from Liverpool and is joining Nantes.

Chirivella's imminent move to Ligue 1 side FC Nantes has been confirmed.

The Spaniard has agreed a three-year contract in France and will officially depart Anfield when his current deal expires on June 30.

He had been offered an extension to stay on Merseyside, but will instead now embark upon a fresh challenge.

Chirivella has been handed the no5 shirt at Nantes, who finished 13th in Ligue 1 last term after the 2019-20 season was ended early as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

The switch comes after seven years at Liverpool, during which time he made 11 first-team appearances after joining as a youngster from Valencia.
