Celtic have wrapped up the signing of Sweden centre-half Carl Starfelt.

The 26-year-old joins from Rubin Kazan subject to international clearance.

Celtic are likely to pay in the region of £4 million to secure Starfelt.

The defender was involved with Rubin in 31 outings last term, as the club finished fourth in the Russian top flight.

"Carl is an experienced player and someone with the attributes to be a real success at Celtic," said manager Ange Postecoglou, per a club statement.

"He is a strong, athletic and committed defender and will add quality to our squad."
