Brentford have completed the signing of Niort defender Yoann Barbet.

The 22-year-old has signed a four-year contract at Griffin Park after 33 appearances for Niort last term.

Marinus Dijkhuizen, Brentford FC Head Coach, said: "One of my first tasks as Head Coach was to review some of the players that the recruitment team had been tracking last season.

“Yoann really caught the eye and after discussions we decided to make his signing one of our priorities.

“I'm very happy that he has chosen to come to Brentford and I look forward to working with him."

French sources say Brentford coughed up €700,000 for the defender.
