‘Disjointed’ Man City eventually deserved Monchengladbach win - Hart

Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart was critical of his team despite their win over Borussia Monchengladbach on Wednesday night.

The Citizens conceded first to Lars Stindl in the 54th minute in Germany but fought back thanks to a goal from Nicolas Otamendi - with the help of a big deflection - before securing all three points through a late Sergio Aguero penalty.

Throughout the encounter, Hart was at the top of his game to deny Gladbach from the penalty spot as well as making a number of other key saves and he felt it was an incoherent yet rightful performance from the visitors.

"We didn't play well today, we were disjointed as we had been in the last few games," Hart said.

"But we deserved to win, we had some really good chances.

"It may have come late but Sergio Aguero is a cool guy and he will score.

"Kevin de Bruyne warned us about them [Monchengladbach], they have some good movement and work themselves into the ground.

"We won and it puts us in a good position.

"For the penalty no stone is unturned. I've seen a lot of penalties from a lot of players - we have good guys in the analysis department. We always take the scenic route in Europe."
