Diego Carlos fires Sevilla to second-place

Sevilla are in second place after their 1-0 defeat of Leganes.

Diego Carlos fire past Pichu Cueller in the 63rd minute in what proved to be the only goal of the game.

For Carlos' goal, Jesus Navas put a cross into the box from the right in the direction of Luuk de Jong. The striker reached the ball and sent it into the path of Jules Kounde, who attempted an overhead kick that was saved by Cuellar. The rebound then fell to Carlos, who fired into the roof of the net from a couple of yards out.

Sevilla held on for all three points, despite a lot of Leganes pressure, with players from both sides collapsing towards the end due to cramp.

That win sees Sevilla up to second on 30 points from 15 games, while Leganes need to start picking up victories fast as they have just six points and sit bottom of LaLiga Santander.
