Olympique Lyon midfielder Alou Diarra isn't overly enthusiastic about joining Portsmouth, it has been revealed.

Lyon and Portsmouth are close to settling on a £5.5 million fee for the France international, but Diarra reportedly would prefer a move to a bigger club.

Indeed, the midfielder has ordered his representatives to sound out Sam Allardyce's Newcastle about firming up their initial interest.
