Deschamps unlikely to offer Nasri a France reprieve

France head coach Didier Deschamps has effectively ruled out welcoming Samir Nasir back into the international fold.

Deschamps controversially left Nasri out of France's squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup, and Nasri has not played international football since 2013.

Despite the 28-year-old's scintillating form in the Premier League for Manchester City, Deschamps said an international recall was not on the cards.

"From the moment that I didn't pick him for the World Cup, I knew that I didn't make him happy. But I accept responsibility for that choice," Deschamps said.

"I don't see why I would review my position in relation to what I saw. I didn't take my decision just like that, without having seen, talked and exchanged.

"He was called up to several gatherings where I formed my opinion and took my decision. These days I don't ask myself the question [about whether he should be recalled]."
