Derby boss Warne praises Everton striker Dobbin: Everyone buzzing for him

Everton youngster Lewis Dobbin has been praised for his bravery after bouncing back from his penalty miss at Anfield for Derby County.

The forward, who is on loan at Derby, missed a spot kick in the Carabao Cup shoot out against Liverpool that meant Derby crashed out of the competition.

However, he found his form days later, scoring in a 5-0 FA Cup first round replay win over Torquay United of the National League.

Derby County head coach Paul Warne told RamsTV: “I didn't see it! No I did, that's a lie.

“It was a great goal. Dobbs would play for his work rate alone, he's a really popular member of the dressing room, they were buzzing for him.

“He had a couple of chances early on, and sometimes when you have them you might not believe in yourself but he does and the fact he took the shot on is brave because it could hit the gaffer's car in the car park but it didn't, it went top corner and the where the fans were.

“It was just an amazing goal, I'm really pleased for him and obviously his family and friends might have seen it on T.V. so great, it just builds confidence, togetherness, they win again and it's been a while – without tempting fate but I'm going to say it – since they smelt defeat, I don't count Liverpool as defeat, the was only Ipswich and that was from an unforced error."
