Derby County boss Billy Davies is delighted with the capture of Blackburn Rovers defender Andy Todd.
"Andy's an excellent signing and somebody we are delighted to have," said Davies, who has taken his summer spending past the £8m mark following the manager's earlier captures of Robert Earnshaw, Tyrone Mears and Claude Davis.
"You do not get much better than Colin Todd as a player, he was terrific.
"I am sure he will be very proud that his son is to play for the club and will want him to follow in his footsteps."
Todd brings with him Premiership experience having played in the top flight for Blackburn, Bolton and Charlton.
He has had some well-publicised disciplinary run-ins during his career, but Davies is not concerned.
"Not at all," said Davies. "Andy is what he is, a very committed player.
"He and all the players at this club know what we expect of them when it comes to discipline."
