Departing Manchester City captain Fernandinho is on the brink of signing with Athletico Paranaense.

Fernandinho will leave City at the end of this season.

He has been in talks with several Brazilian clubs about a return home this summer.

And Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano is reporting Athlético Paranaense is close to an agreement with the 37-year-old.

The midfielder played for Athlético Paranaense just before his move to Shakhtar Donetsk and European football.
