Nigel de Jong admits finishing the season without a trophy will mean failure at Manchester City.

City face Sporting Lisbon in the Europa League tonight.

De Jong, 27, said: "We are still in two main competitions and the only way we can succeed is to win one of the prizes.

"You always go for the prizes and we will be very disappointed if, at the end of the day, we end up with no trophies.

"Everyone is hungry for more after winning the FA Cup last season and that always has to be the ambition of this club."
