David Luiz is close to signing a one-year deal with Arsenal.

The Brazilian, 33, is out of contract at the end of this month.

Luiz faced heavy criticism after his horrendous performance against Manchester City last week, giving away a goal and a penalty before being sent off as a substitute.

However, Sky Sports says Mikel Arteta wants the veteran defender to stay and the club are close to negotiating a single year extension.
