Dani Ceballos admits he chose to join Arsenal this season over a counter offer from Liverpool.

The midfielder is on a season-long loan with the Gunners from Real Madrid.

He told Marca: "I was proud that Liverpool were interested, but chose Arsenal thanks to Unai Emery and how he looked at me.

"Unai came to me more or less and said that he loves me as a player and that he has been in love with me ever since I played for Betis.

"Jürgen Klopp is a fantastic coach, but every team has its own playing philosophy.

"At present, my style of play was not suited to Liverpool."
