Crystal Palace jump ahead of PSV in race for wantaway Toulouse keeper Lafont

Crystal Palace are challenging PSV Eindhoven for Toulouse goalkeeper Alban Lafont.

Lafont, long admired by former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, has informed TFC he wants to leave this summer.

L'Equipe says Palace and PSV are chasing the keeper's signature - with the Londoners currently regarded as favourites.

Palace's move for Lafont suggests their hopes of closing a Bosman deal for Getafe keeper Vicente Guaita has fallen through.

Just 19, Lafont has had three full seasons as TFC's No1, playing 98 first team games. After their relegation, the youngster has no plans of continuing his career in Ligue 2 next season.
