Crystal Palace boss Hodgson: Zaha very clear about his plans

Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson is confident Wilfried Zaha is happy where he is.

Palace return from the international break at Everton on Monday, a ground where - had he had his way - Zaha would have been playing since the start of last season.

The Palace talisman handed in a transfer request just before deadline day at the start of the 2019/20 season as Everton pushed to sign the Ivory Coast international.

Hodgson and Zaha have both spoken in the past about how that failed move affected the forward's form last term, when he scored just four Premier League goals.

“He's been very good," said Hodgson. "He's missed more games through injury than in previous years which is a blow for us, but we're hoping to keep him fit for the next nine.

“He seems to be pretty much clear at the moment as to what he wants to do and where he wants to be. We're hoping to benefit from that in the next nine games.

“At the end of the season, we'll see what happens then."
