Cruzeiro starlet Leo Bonatini admits he was surprised by talk of being on his way to Manchester City this week.

The 17 year-old midfielder was linked in a swap for City striker Roque Santa Cruz, who is currently on-loan at Real Betis.

"It was all very fast. I left home with my father, I met a friend in the street, and he said he heard about me going! We did not know, I called a friend of my father's and asked, 'What is happening?'. But I was happy, this proves that my work is correct, I am following a track, and we'll wait.

"If I must leave, or stay here, it will be what is best for Cruzeiro and the best for me."
