Mario Mandžukić claims he is an even better player now than when he was in his twenties.

The Croatia striker, 32, helped his side reach the World Cup semi-final with a goal and assist against Denmark in the last 16 and Russia in the quarter-final, respectively.

He said: "Where do I find strength? I really don't know. I remember some 'expert' ahead of World Cup saying this is not good old Mandzukic... Well, he was right, this is a new, even better Mandzukic!

"I always give my best for my club and my country."
