Cordoba sack Ferrer and hire Djukic

Cordoba have sacked coach Chapi Ferrer and replaced him with Miroslav Djukic.

A club statement confirmed that the Serbian tactician, 48, will meet his new players on Tuesday morning after signing a deal running to the end of the season with the Andalusian outfit.

Djukic - once a Yugoslavia international defender who represented Deportivo La Coruna and Tenerife - had been out of work since leaving Valencia in December 2013.

Ferrer left his position earlier on Monday night with the club propping up the La Liga table.
