Leeds United have confirmed the signing of Liam Cooper from Chesterfield.
The Elland Road club have secured the 22-year old defender on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee believed to be around £475,000.
The former Hull City man initially arrived at Chesterfield on loan in November 2012 before joining permanently in January 2013 but has now decided to depart the League One outfit for the Championship.
A brief statement on Chesterfield's official website said: "Chesterfield have agreed an undisclosed fee with Leeds United for central defender Liam Cooper.
"The player is currently discussing personal terms with the Championship club."
The former Scotland youth international, who has had previous loan spells with Carlisle United and Huddersfield Town, made a total of 80 appearances for the Spireites during his time at Proact Stadium.
