Birmingham City managing director Karren Brady admits the on-field success of Mauro Zarate lessens the chances of them hanging onto the Argentine.

In her diary for The Sun, Karren wrote: "He's good and we can't help talking about how we'd love to keep him at Blues.

"We're investigating but each goal separates us further from his Qatar club's valuation, originally £18million."
