Birmingham City boss Steve Bruce has likened Cameron Jerome to former Brum striker Andy Johnson.

Bruce said: "Cameron has got all the raw materials. He reminds me of a young Andrew Johnson in terms of his pace and his sheer power.

"In hindsight I let 'AJ' go too quick as a 21-year-old. I won't make the same mistake with Cameron. You've got to give people time to mature and get better.

"Cameron has all the raw ingredients. He has blistering pace. He needs to improve on his finishing and his game awareness but he is getting there.

"He will be a good asset to the club. He has got the great thing we all look for, frightening pace."
