Antonio Conte has told Manchester United chief Ed Woodward he wants the manager's job.
The former Chelsea boss, reports TMW, has turned down AS Roma and Real Madrid convinced the United job would soon become available.
And after the dismissal of Jose Mourinho, Conte's minders have assured Woodward his ambition hasn't changed.
The two parties have been in contact for the past two months, with Conte keeping himself available for the United post.
However, working against Conte is Woodward's priority, who remains Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino.
