Cody Gakpo was eager to pay tribute to Liverpool teammate Curtis Jones last night.

Jones scored twice in their Carabao Cup quarterfinal win against West Ham and was named man of the match.

It was Gakpo who made the presentation to his teammate post-match and before handing over the award, said: "A quick word.

"I'm really proud of you. You work really hard and nobody sees it obviously because it's behind closed doors. You deserve all the best, keep going."

Responding, Jones said: "Appreciate you, as always, brother."
