Chelsea won't rush call on Aston Villa loanee Barkley

Chelsea will not rush any decision over the future of Ross Barkley.

The Blues midfielder joined Aston Villa on loan in September after struggling to cement his place in Frank Lampard's side.

However, with Lampard now out of the picture, it is believed new boss Thomas Tuchel will discuss the situation with Dean Smith the end of the season, says the Daily Mail.

Barkley excelled following his arrival at Villa Park, scoring two goals and making one assist in eight league games, before picking up a hamstring injury in November.

Smith was full of praise for the midfielder in November and revealed he had promised him he would get him into England's Euros squad next summer.

Barkley returned to action against Southampton on Friday after missing seven league games and headed home the only goal of Villa 1-0 win at St Mary's.
