Chelsea top of the Premier League pops in 2016

Chelsea would be on track to secure back-to-back Premier League titles had the competition started on January 1, 2016.

The Blues are undefeated since the turn of the year, having amassed 19 points in nine matches under interim manager Guus Hiddink.

Tottenham have also secured 19 points in 2016, but would sit in second place behind their London rivals based on goal difference.

Premier League surprise packets Leicester City would sit in third place, just one point behind the leaders.

Title challengers Arsenal and Manchester City would find themselves in 10th and 14th place respectively, following a lacklustre start to the new calendar year.

Struggling Crystal Palace would be holding up the other 19 clubs having recorded just two points in nine outings in 2016, and would be below relegation battlers Norwich City, Newcastle United and drop favourites even Aston Villa.
