The Blues were unable to secure Manuel Ugarte from Sporting CP, with PSG beating the London club to his signature.

Now The Mail suggests that Chelsea are swiftly moving on to Caicedo as a midfield option.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino is determined to improve that area of his squad, as he wants his side to play with increased intensity in all games.

Caicedo was the subject of serious interest from Arsenal and Chelsea in the winter transfer window.

At the time, Brighton did not let him leave, but a transfer is said to be more probable this summer.
