Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata has revisited his decision to leave Real Madrid last year.

Morata's move saw him blow his place in Spain's World Cup squad.

But he told ABC: "I left Real Madrid for a chance to play the World Cup in Russia, but finally I was not selected.

"It was complicated and I think it will be hard to fall lower than that.

"But now, the past is the past and I am convinced that it has made me stronger and in the future it will not happen to me anymore."
