Manchester City striker Erling Haaland could easily have left Borussia Dortmund a year before his eventual departure last summer.
Haaland was sold to City at the end of last season.
However, Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano is reporting the Norway striker had a raft of offers in front of him 12 months ago - though Dortmund refused to do business.
City were in contact, but faced stiff competition from Chelsea, Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Haaland has scored 14 goals in his first ten games for City so far this season.
