Chelsea are preparing a raid on Southampton for Nathaniel Clyne.

The Sunday Mirror says Chelsea are set to make a £7.5million move for Clyne this ­summer.

The Southampton right-back has ­impressed in his first season in the Premier League and the Blues are keen to bring him to Stamford Bridge.

London-born Clyne cost a bargain £2.15m when signed from Crystal Palace last summer.

He was watched by ­Chelsea scouts last ­Thursday when he played for the England Under-21 team that beat Romania 3-0 at Wycombe.
