Chelsea midfielder Nathan requires a Dutch work permit to join Vitesse Arnhem this season.
Nathan has joined the Eredivisie outfit on a 12-monh loan, but cannot even train with his new team until he gains a local permit.
Vitesse coach Peter Bosz confirmed to Gelderlander: "We keep in mind that we have lost about ten days with Nathan.
"He must surrender his passport at the Dutch embassy in Rio de Janeiro. That then goes for a passport stamp to Washington. Nathan must then wait in Brazil. He is not allowed to leave the country without his Brazilian passport."
Bosz is hopeful of Nathan being cleared to join Vitesse from next week.
