Ruben Loftus-Cheek has revealed how he has endured a tough season.

The 24-year-old has been sidelined since May with an Achilles injury, but he has recently returned to first-team training.

"Tough times are definitely hard to stay motivated," he told the club's website. "You have to remind yourself what your end goal is and keep reminding yourself so you have that motivation to keep going through these tough times because it is hard.

"When I'm pulling into the car park it's like a trigger that I'm here to work. I need to do everything I can to get better, and when I leave the training ground, I want to feel satisfied that I've done everything that I can."
