Chelsea have just seven days to make a decision on whether to keep Mateo Kovacic.

The Blues can sign the Real Madrid midfielder on permanent basis before July 1 following his loan spell last season.

An impending transfer ban wouldn't prohibit Chelsea from making the signing as they already possess Kovacic's registration.

Goal says the Croatia international has not been notified by the west London club about their plans, leaving his future in limbo shortly before the start of preseason.

Real are keen to sell the 25-year-old with Inter Milan and AC Milan registering an interest in his services.
