Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has spoken to Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling about a move to Stamford Bridge.
The Telegraph says the Blues are preparing an opening bid for Sterling, who is valued by City between £50million-£60m.
It is reported that Real Madrid and Barcelona also hold an interest in Sterling, but the City winger is thought to prefer a move to Chelsea due to the opportunity to play regular first-team football and compete for trophies.
Tuchel is set to receive £200m to spend in the transfer market this summer, with new owner Todd Boehly reportedly promising six new signings.
The Blues see Sterling as an attacking replacement for Romelu Lukaku, who is close to sealing a loan return to Inter Milan ahead of the upcoming season.
