Chelsea boss Graham Potter has insisted it isn't his job to win over the club's supporters.

The young English coach has remarkably suggested that it is not up to him to get the boo boys at the club on his side.

After four months in the job, Potter is in serious danger of the sack, as Chelsea slumped to tenth in the Premier League.

Before a 2-1 loss to Fulham on Thursday, Potter said on a BT Sport Podcast: “I think you're always just battling for perspective and you can't argue with people all the time.

“People will have their opinion, they'll analyze the situation, and their conclusion will be "it's because Potter's rubbish" you know.

“There'll be people out there that will think that, and there'll be others that can look at it a different way and can look at it with a different perspective.

“So, I think you have to accept there's going to be criticism and accept that people won't like you and disagree with you and I don't think you can fight that.

“It's certainly not my job to convince them otherwise, my job is to do my job as well as I can and if I do that well then maybe they'll change their opinion."
