Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino admitted that he's excited to meet Ecuadorian wonderkid Kendry Paez.

The 16-year-old has signed a pre-contract deal that included a fee of £17.2 million to his club Independiente del Valle in Ecuador.

He will remain with the club until May 2025, when he turns 18 and can move to Chelsea.

“Of course, I know him," said Pochettino of the talented youngster, who is visiting England this week.

“He is playing in the Ecuador national team. He was the youngest to make his debut.

“I follow the national teams, I follow them in South America, he is our player and I know him very well. He is a great talent."
