Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti says winning the Double this season will make up for their early Champions League exit.

Chelsea have never won the Double, a feat that also eluded Ancelotti when he managed in Serie A.

The Stamford Bridge chief said: "Winning the Double would make up for the Champions League, for sure.

"I've never won the Championship and the cup myself. In 2003, I won the Champions League and the Coppa Italia.

"But after the defeat to Inter Milan this was our aim, to win the Double. We are very close but nothing is decided yet."
