Chelsea have made a step forward in their pursuit of a new centre-back.
The Blues have agreed personal terms with Wesley Fofana of Leicester City.
According to French journalist Ignazio Genuardi, the London club are working hard to bring the 21-year-old to Stamford Bridge.
They have already sealed personal terms, but there is the small matter of agreeing a fee with Leicester.
The Foxes are loathe to lose Fofana so close to the new season, given their other centre-back options.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano recently stated that Chelsea do admire Fofana, but no deal is close.
Chelsea missed out on signing Jules Kounde and Presnal Kimpembe this summer.
