CHAMPIONS LEAGUE: Chelsea find form with four-goal cruise over Tel Aviv

Chelsea returned to form with a seemingly easy victory over Maccabi Tel Aviv in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

Jose Mourinho made no less than six alterations to his line-up which had been beaten 3-1 by Everton in the Premier League on the weekend and the changes, inspiring the Blues to a 4-0 victory at Stamford Bridge in their Group G opener.

In a week where all other English sides failed in Europe, Chelsea were able to pick up the slack by scoring two goals in each half to comfortably account for the visiting Israeli champions, led by former Blues midfielder Slavisa Jovanovic.

Willian kicked things off in the 15th minute when his left-flank cross evaded all in the area and found its way past Tel Aviv keeper Predrag Rajkovic before Oscar converted from the penalty spot on the stroke of half-time after Diego Costa had been brought down by ex-Blues defender Tal Ben Haim.

Costa then added a third with a lovely finish on the turn with his instep in the 58th minute before Cesc Fabregas wrapped it up with just over 10 minutes remaining, slotting home with ease after running onto a deflected effort from Loic Remy.

It was a nice return from the reigning Premier League champions who now set their sights on London rivals Arsenal in search of their second domestic win this weekend.

In the other Group G contest, Dynamo Kyiv and FC Porto drew 2-2 in an entertaining affair in Ukraine.
