Daniel Majstorovic is expected to arrive in Glasgow on Saturday to sign a two-year contract with Celtic, reports The Herald Scotland. The Swedish defender, who played in his country's 3-0 friendly victory over Scotland in midweek, said he will be leaving AEK Athens after two years, as the Greek club look to reduce their wage budget due to financial difficulties.
The 33-year-old will undergo a medical and, all being well, will become Neil Lennon's eighth signing of the summer.
"I spent two beautiful years in Greece with AEK Athens and I'm glad I had the opportunity to play at such a great team," Majstorovic told the AEK website. "I want to thank everyone who worked there and the club for its support.
"I understand that AEK, like the whole country, is in a difficult economic situation and I hope everything goes well there. Going to Celtic is a good move for me as they are a major European club. I will go to Glasgow for a medical and then sign my contract."
