Celtic's Forster tipped for England call-up

Celtic goalkeeper Fraser Forster is being backed to be included in the England squad for upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

The 24-year old gloveman has been in fine form for the Hoops this season and is likely to get his reward by receiving his first Three Lions call-up today from manager Roy Hodgson for the October home meeting with San Marino and the trip to take on Poland in Warsaw four days later.

With Rob Green currently sitting on the bench at QPR, West Bromwich Albion's Ben Foster still retired from international football and Birmingham City's Jack Butland into the U21 squad, it leaves a vacancy for Forster to fill with just Norwich City's John Ruddy standing in his way of pushing for the number two position.

Manchester City's Joe Hart clearly has the monopoly on England's number one shirt but Forster's performances for the Scottish champions in both the league and in Europe indicate he is ready to be called on if required.
