Celtic's Forrest could miss rest of season

Celtic fear young gun James Forrest could miss the remainder of the Scottish season.

The 20-year old winger came off early in the Hoops' League Cup final loss to Kilmarnock about a month ago after injuring his ankle and calf and was immediately sent to hospital.

Initial scans showed no serious damage but the pain and swelling have not abated, prompting the club to send Forrest for further scans with the results now being awaited.

"It's a possibility. We don't know yet," was manager Neil Lennon's reply when asked if Forrest would miss the remaining matches this campaign.

"We are hopeful it will not rule him out for the season but he is just struggling with it a bit at the minute."
