Celtic, Rangers eyeing Tottenham winger Dilan Markanday

Celtic and Rangers are eyeing Tottenham winger Dilan Markanday.

Markanday, who made his senior Spurs debut in the Europa Conference League game against Vitesse Arnhem in October, is out of contract in the summer and the club want him to sign a new deal and go out on loan, though a permanent exit cannot be ruled out.

The 20-year-old winger, who is Spurs' first British Asian player, is also wanted by a number of leading Championship clubs, including Bournemouth, West Brom and QPR, says the London Evening Standard.

Spurs believe Markanday has a future at the club but want him to spend a season out on loan before returning to challenge for a first-team place - much like Oliver Skipp, who is part of Antonio Conte's senior squad after spending last season with Norwich in the Championship.

Because Markanday is under 24 years of age, Spurs would be due a compensatory fee if he joins another club at the end of his contract, which would be set by a tribunal if he remains in England.
