Celtic and Newcastle United are chasing Burnley winger Chris Eagles.
The Daily Mail says Eagles is set to sign a new contract at the relegated Championship side - despite reported interest from Celtic.
The wide man has already rejected a move to Rangers after being forced to take a pay cut at Turf Moor this summer, but sources played down talk of a Parkhead move yesterday.
With Newcastle also interested, Burnley manager Brian Laws hopes to tie up the 24-year-old winger on an improved deal.
He told the Daily Mail: "As far as we are concerned, Chris is still a Burnley player. No one has made an official approach, so I don't know where the Celtic thing is coming from.
"There has been talk of Chris signing a new deal here, but we are not in a position to discuss the situation concerning our players where that's concerned."
