Cech takes Wenger swipe: I should be Arsenal Premier League winner

Petr Cech says he should be a title winner with Arsenal.

After arriving from Chelsea, Cech was frustrated not to win the title in his first season and found it even worse when manager Arsene Wenger would often play his No2 keepers in Champions League games.

He said: “The first season, we should have won the league. That was the one where we made a few mistakes at the end and Leicester had their fairytale. That was the year we should have won it.

“But the one thing that frustrated me was that I came to Arsenal because they wanted to go further in the Champions League, and I never played in it. That was the one thing that's frustrated me, I have to say.

“It's a fantastic club with great people, with everything and the history and the class, but this was the one thing: I came there for that, because the club had never won the Champions League.

“I thought that was one of the reasons I went there, to help them win that European title. It would be so nice to replicate what I'd managed to do with Chelsea. The club had never won the Champions League or the Europa League, and we got there and I never played."
