West Ham striker Andy Carroll is hopeful he can be recalled to the England national side, provided he maintains his form and health.
The 26-year-old has endured a horror run of injuries that has limited his impact for the Hammers, but he is hopeful that tough period is behind him after scoring against Chelsea a fortnight ago.
"It was really important, the home record wasn't the best before then and beating Chelsea at home, it's a great feeling, and for me personally to get a goal again it's great," Carroll told Sky Sports.
"It was tough, it was hard [being out injured]. I just had to concentrate on getting back and I had my friends and family there to help me and support me.
"It was a nightmare, a tough time but I'm over it now and want to move on and keep myself healthy.
"[Playing for England] is obviously in the back of my head but I think at the moment I'm concentrating on being fit and scoring goals at West Ham and that's the only thing that will lead me there."
