Fabio Cannavaro has dismissed talk of Italy coach Marcello Lippi joining him at Al-Ahli.

Lippi is due to step down from his post after the finals in South Africa and his future is unclear.

Italy captain Cannavaro has signed with the UAE's Al-Ahli after coming off contract at Juventus.

When asked for his reaction to the report, Cannavaro said: "I read it too and it made me laugh.

"I don't have to convince anyone [about my decision to move to Al-Ahli]. In Dubai there is the sea, it's warm, it would also be wonderful for Lippi.

"But I believe that he has yet to decide. I don't think he has chosen if and where he will coach after the World Cup."
