Southampton shot-stopper Willy Caballero has earned a new contract at the club.

The veteran has signed a one year extension to his deal.

That is according to journalist Cesar Luis Merlo, who stated that Caballero is happy with the Saints at present.

The keeper has been with Southampton since arriving on a free transfer in December last year, having previously been with Chelsea until last July.

Caballero has not made an appearance in the Premier League since his FA Cup starts in the fourth and fifth rounds.

However, he is seen as a reliable third choice keeper at the club.
