Norway's Byrne are due a bumper windfall from Borussia Dortmund's sale of Erling Haaland to Manchester City.
City are paying around £60m for the Norway international.
Former club Byrne are due to a cut of the fee and GM Hans-Øyvind Sagen told VG: "Erling has taken the step all the way to the top of the world. It is completely incredible. It's a dream. I get chills when I say that."
Espen Undheim, who coached Haaland at Byrne, also said: "I now train Bryne boys 13 years and the zone team. Today's young people with us in Bryne think this with Erling is unreal.
"They are incredibly impressed.
"'Imagine that he is from Bryne like us,' they often say. He is an insane inspiration and motivator for them."
